Legal Services of Long Island (LSLI), formerly known as Nassau Suffolk Law Services, is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing free legal services to the most vulnerable communities across Nassau and Suffolk counties. Since 1966, we have worked tirelessly to ensure free access to justice for individuals and families facing legal challenges but lacking the financial means to secure representation.
Our mission is rooted in advocating for justice and defending the rights of low-income, disabled, and elderly residents, as well as survivors of domestic violence, veterans, and families in crisis. We believe that everyone, regardless of their income, deserves fair representation and the ability to live free from discrimination, unlawful eviction, and other injustices.

NSLS is dedicated to providing equal access to basic human rights and services through provision of high quality legal representation, public information and community advocacy training to ensure that low income, disabled and disadvantaged individuals have equal access to the civil justice system on Long Island.
The staff is comprised of attorneys, paralegals, social workers and support staff. The social work component is a unique feature of the program and is based on the recognition that some of our clients may need special support and services to manage and deal effectively with the legal system.
