xF Technologies Inc., an Albuquerque, NM based company, has developed a patented technology to produce low cost advanced biofuels that can be blended into diesel and gasoline.
The company’s 408 family of products are furoate esters are energy dense, non-toxic and compatible with current industry infrastructure. Additionally, they are designed to fit within the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS-2) to be eligible for RIN generation.
408s are produced by converting traditional or cellulosic biomass into a chemical intermediate that is subsequently combined with an alcohol such as ethanol, potentially expanding ethanol’s reach beyond the current ‘blend wall’.
