Allan Hancock College is a California public community college located in northern Santa Barbara County. The college has been recognized three times by the Aspen Institute as one of the top 150 community colleges in the nation. Hancock had its accreditation status fully reaffirmed through 2023 by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC).
Approximately 12,000 credit students enroll each semester at one of the college's four locations in Santa Maria, Lompoc, Solvang, or at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Recently, the college has undergone more than $150 in renovations and upgrades thanks to Bond Measure I, passed by community voters in 2006.
Hancock is one of the six largest employers in northern Santa Barbara County with more than 1,300 employees.
