SUNY Plattsburgh was founded in 1889 as an institution of higher education with the sole mission of training teachers. Today, it is a comprehensive college that offers a traditional liberal arts foundation with more than 70 majors including a broad array of accredited professional programs. The college enrolls approximately 5,350 undergraduates and 400 graduate students.
