Scots College has a proud history of education. In 1916 Scots was founded as an Independent boys Boarding School Years 1-13 with a Presbyterian heritage. Now an International Baccalaureate World School Scots College offers a future focussed education with a truly global perspective. In 2020 Scots College welcomed girls to the Senior School and are expanding to become fully co-educational across all Year Levels from 2021.
At Scots we create global citizens - students who are equipped for life as balanced, compassionate, motivated and socially aware young men and women. The Scots motto of 'Virtutem Paret Doctrina', translates as 'let education build all round character' and emphasises our commitment to a holistic education and the development of well-rounded students.
We strive to instill in each of our students a life-long commitment to learning and provide a nurturing environment in which each student can achieve their academic, spiritual, physical, cultural and social potential, for the greater good and in service to others. By providing our students with an array of opportunities inside and outside the classroom, we encourage them to not only explore and recognise the diversity of their talents and abilities but to develop essential leadership skills.
