Lovisenberg Diaconal University College (LDH) was the very first institution in Norway to offer a nursing education. Ever since the start in 1868 the college has championed knowledge based nursing, centred on care for our ‘neighbour’, and this ideal is still the focal point for all activities. Quality, care and benevolence are the values on which our college’s bachelor program and all specialty courses rest.
With its 1000 students LDH is one of Norway’s largest bachelor level schools of nursing. As well as offering a bachelor program training authorised nurses, we offer a wide variety of post bachelor specialty programs, master's programmes and supplementary courses. Lovisenberg University College is owned by The Deaconess’s House Lovisenberg, a private non-profit organisation.
LDH enjoys a versatile and interesting environment and can offer students a variety of teaching methods. The college is based on Christian philosophy and values. This does not mean that students are required to share in this philosophy, but they will have to work in accordance with the college’s foundamental values: quality, care and benevolence.
