CarbiCrete is a Montreal-based carbon removal technology company whose patented technology enables the production of cement-free, carbon-negative concrete made with industrial by-products and captured carbon dioxide. For every ton of concrete produced using the CarbiCrete process, 150 kg of CO2 are abated/removed.
Conventional concrete is made with cement, the production of which accounts for nearly 10% of the world’s CO2 emissions!
We’ve replaced cement in the mix with steel slag, industrial waste that is far cheaper than cement.
Using carbonation activation, CO2 is injected into the wet concrete to give it its strength. Because we capture and permanently sequester CO2 in the concrete, these products are carbon-negative.
Our patented technology can be implemented in any concrete products plant.
