Our novel technology extracts protein from green leaves. We’re separating a protein called Rubisco which is the most abundant protein on the planet, and responsible for photosynthesis. It’s an incredible food ingredient, so we’re using leaf protein to develop a range of foods that lift people out of the cycle of dissatisfaction with the existing plant- and animal-based proteins. Whether for taste, digestion, nutrition, or environmental reasons, we're excited about the possibilities leaf protein unlocks for eaters worldwide.
In 2022, we raised $15m USD in Series A funding, led by Silicon Valley-based Khosla Ventures, with participation from Ngāi Tahu Holdings via their New Economy Mandate, ACC’s Climate Change Impact Fund, and NBA Basketballer and impact investor Steven Adams.
Our growing team of 24 is made up of food technologists, process engineers, biotechnologists, farm systems specialists, and sales and marketing experts. You can find our headquarters near Christchurch, in Rolleston but watch this space because our ambition is global.
