Designscape is an architectural practice that unites the talent and experience of its individuals in a team dedicated to the pursuit of well-designed, environmentally conscious solutions.
We put the users of our buildings first, by striving to understand our clients' aspirations and constraints and responding with ingenuity and energy. It’s our aim to design buildings and spaces which go beyond the functional requirements, continuing to inspire and satisfy the users long after we finish.
Chris Mackenzie founded the company in 2005 after several years spent working on prestigious projects at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios. This reputation helped to establish Designscape in the early years and continues to enhance our expanding portfolio of work. In 2010 Spencer Back joined Chris bringing his wealth of experience gained at other practices across the country.
Our current work ranges all from medium to large scale domestic alterations to a production studio and art gallery for Damien Hirst. Budgets are typically between £250K and £20million. We also have considerable experience in dealing with historic and listed buildings, applying a sensitive approach to the meeting of old and new.
Whatever the size and nature of the project, however, we are driven by our desire to ensure that all commissions are completed to the highest possible standard. It's our fundamental hope that those who use a Designscape building in the future will find the experience both enjoyable and rewarding.
