The Daughters for Life Foundation is a registered Canadian charity that provides FULL Scholarships, Awards, and Fellowship programs for aspiring young women living in the Middle East, to enable them to pursue studies otherwise inaccessible to them. We believe that empowering girls and young women, through quality Education, is the key to long-lasting peace in the Middle East and the rest of the world.
Female students from Palestine, Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Syria, etc... can access scholarships at the graduate and undergraduate level to study in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Bangladesh.
Our programs are available to all Middle Eastern young women regardless their ethnicity or religious affiliation. Our recipients are chosen not only for their academic achievements, often in the face of socio-economic adversity and hardship, but also for their character and commitment to improving the lives of girls and young women in the Middle East. Our goal is to invest in their potential for leadership and foster their success in whatever fields they choose to pursue.
The Daughters for Life Foundation was established in memory of Bessan, Mayar and Aya, daughters of the founder, Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, who lost their lives during the Israeli incursion into Gaza in 2009, and seeks to honor their love of life and learning and their hopes and dreams for an educated future.
