The Brooklyn Bridge Alliance for Youth aims to develop a community in which youth can thrive and succeed. In which young people feel safe, are connected to positive adults, and can see clearly a positive future and have the tools and resources that they need in order to reach that positive future. Based on research, the Alliance has identified three long-term outcomes that will help Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park become communities in which youth can thrive and succeed.
Outcomes for Youth: Build hope and connect all youth
Increased graduation rates
Reduction in community crime
Increased pathways to college and career
The hope of youth and their families is diminished by their disconnection and disengagement from resources, social networks and systems that can support their healthy development.
The Alliance works through its partners to achieve positive change in these areas. Working in collaborative teams with staff from schools, cities, county, and higher education institutions allows the Alliance to impact policy at multiple levels in the community, and allows our partners to see change with a wide ranging impact. We recognize that these three issues particularly are complex, multifaceted, and no one entity or organization will be able to solve it for every youth in the entire community. We need to work together in order to achieve our vision.
