Oxford Women in Consulting (OxWiC) is a University of Oxford student society established in 2017 for the purpose of connecting female-identifying Oxford students with both top tier and niche consultancies. With an ever-increasing number of firms and enterprises committed to actively cultivating diversity in the workplace, OxWiC was created as an answer to what we feel is a large and so far, unsatisfied demand for ventures aimed at encouraging and guiding women towards successful careers in consulting.
We are unique in Oxford because we focus on the intersection of women and consulting. We provide a large but still very much targeted audience, unlike any other women or consulting groups in Oxford. While we enjoy collaborating with other consulting societies and those that focus on women empowerment, we believe our work is vital as a separate society for inspiring and supporting women who are interested in a career in consulting. Our focus on consulting careers means that we are able to provide detailed, tailored advice and networking.
OxWiC provides a platform for women to nurture and develop their talent and leadership abilities in the consulting industry by hosting speaker events, skill-building workshops, networking events and firm visits. These events cover all forms of consultancy disciplines, from science and IT to strategic and financial consulting with the following focuses:
1. Strategy
2. Innovation
3. Technology
We hope your support will help us to continue and improve upon this work, as we endeavour to promote diversity, strengthen skills and help women to thrive in the consulting field.
