The Chinese Mental Health Association (CMHA) provides a diverse range of services with the aim of serving Chinese people who suffer from mental health related issues and supporting their carers whom may not be familiar with all the nuances of traditional Chinese culture. CMHA also actively involves in increasing mental health awareness, representing the wide spectrum of Chinese mental health issues in public forums and raising its profile in the overall Chinese community.
Our services include:
- Counselling: provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals from the Chinese community to off-load their thoughts and feelings
- IAPT: offer access to guided self-help CBT-based interventions and NICE approved therapies to those suffering from anxiety and depression
- Befriending: recruit and train volunteers to meet and provide support to clients suffering from mental health problems with the aim of easing clients' sense of loneliness and isolation
- Well-being club: offer health and well-being related activities to ethnic Chinese elders to improve their physical and mental well-being, build network and promote health awareness
- Social Club: strengthen the well-being of the Chinese mental health users through facilitating a supportive social club environment where clients can gather regularly to learn, share and enjoy a more fulfilling and empowered lifestyle
