The Society of Writers to His Majesty’s Signet (the WS Society) is a registered Scottish charity (SC050987). The Society is an incorporated body of an exceptional brand of Scottish lawyers known as Writers to the Signet, with over 500 years of heritage. The Society supports the legal profession and the public with research, comment, learning and cultural activities. It also provides support services to the charity sector. The Society owns and occupies the magnificent Signet Library in Parliament Square, Edinburgh. The building is open to the public and the first class restaurant Colonnades is open during the week and on Sundays.
