The Double Glazing & Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme (DGCOS) was set up to provide comprehensive consumer protection to UK homeowners buying double glazing, a conservatory or associated products.
Launched nationally in January 2010, DGCOS is endorsed by TV consumer champion and Architect George Clarke.
DGCOS is the first scheme in the double glazing industry to provide this level of protection for homeowners and installers. Homeowners who employ an accredited DGCOS member will automatically receive deposit protection, work in progress insurance and an insurance backed guarantee. Homeowners will also receive free access to professional mediators, independent inspectors, and a legally binding dispute resolution service via the Quality Assurance Ombudsman should a problem occur.
