With almost 1000 members and strong ties to some of the biggest law firms in the world, the University of Nottingham’s Law Society (affectionately known as “LawSoc”) is one of the largest and most active student societies across the UK.
We aim for excellence in everything we undertake so that our members get the best out of their membership. Over the last few years we have been awarded the three most prestigious accolades by the Students’ Union: starting with the “Best Society” award, followed by “Best Departmental Society” alongside winning the “Activities Officer’s Award” two years in a row. We consistently strive to better ourselves, and over the last two years we have branched into new ventures by being awarded “Best Welfare and Inclusivity Award” in 2015 and 2016, the “Best Entrepreneurial Initiative” for our Book Sale, as well as the “Best Academic Experience” in recognition of our services and dedication to the students of the School of Law.
Our society has an impressive and resourceful relationship with our fellow law affiliated societies, that of Pro Bono, the Bar Society and Negotiation Society so that our members can experience a manner of legal activities such as mooting, debating, and Pro Bono projects, namely Unbarred and Aspire (which are community based).
