DREAM DESTINATION STUDIO
Blue Rock is the meeting of Old World artistic values and audio perfection. Architect, Lou Kimball and acoustic designer, Michael Cronin, have created high performance spaces with natural warmth, just right to play (we mean work) in.
Six rooms are connected with 100 microphone lines, video ties, headphones, and network lines. The Garrison and the Texas Room, with high vaulted ceilings, and overlooking the hills and winding river bluff, are perfect for strings, drums, amps, percussion, and choral tracking.
Modern audio excellence employs analogue and digital technologies. At Blue Rock, these are seamlessly integrated. Famed British audio designer, Rupert Neve created our all-discrete 5088 console and much of the high-end outboard gear. Classic compressors, EQs and ambient processors by Chandler, Shadow Hills, Mercury, Bricasti, and others, are supplemented by the production power of Avid's Pro Tools HD3 with converters by Apogee and Prisim (40 I/O). Full lodging, kitchen, dining, and catering services complete the experience.
The historic town of Wimberley is close by with charming restaurants, and shops. Austin is a 40-minute drive and getting to San Antonio takes 75 minutes. The stars on clear nights at Blue Rock are stunning. Keep an eye out for deer and our wild gray fox. You may hear the coyotes howl around midnight and remember what you're here to do.
