The Royal Ballet of Flanders is Belgium's sole academically trained professional classical ballet company. Since 2005 the company has been led by Kathryn Bennetts which has undeniably resulted in a successful period for the company and its impressive classical and modern ballet productions have filled theatres in Belgium and abroad. Audiences around the world have been dazzled by the company’s talent and enthusiasm.
Programming includes works of Forsythe, Balanchine, Kylian, Haydée, Spuck, Elo, Fonte, Pickett. Commissioned recent works are by David Dawson -the company's house choreographer-, Garry Stewart and Matjash Mrozewski.
The company earned the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award, the most coveted theatre awards in the UK, in 2009
for William Forsythe’s absolute masterpiece Impressing the Czar.
