Mission
The East London Science School opened in September 2013 offering all its pupils the opportunity to study three separate sciences until the age of 16, regardless of ability.
The school does not select on ability or aptitude and will cater for more than 1000 pupils aged 11-18, including a sixth form of 400 plus, in one of the most deprived boroughs in Europe.
The Principal David Perks, is a Physics teacher with more than 25 years experience in the state sector who has advised the DfE on the new National Curriculum for science.
The curriculum is built around subject specialist teaching and a fantastic enrichment curriculum based on regular visits into central London.
Description
The East London Science School opened in September 2013. We currently have almost 90 Year 7 pupils. When full we will have 1000+ pupils aged 11-18, including a 400+ in the sixth form. All pupils will follow an academic curriculum, focusing on the sciences and mathematics but covering a broad range of subjects. Our aim is to give pupils of all abilities and backgrounds the best academic education possible comparable with the best public schools in London to allow them to aim to study in the best universities.
