We are a registered not-for-profit organisation providing employment and training for people with disability through the NDIS. The organisation was founded in 1949. Today, we provide supported employment opportunities for 260 people with disabilities. The total number of employees is circa 550. Access Industries provides a supportive and professional workplace that creates opportunities for people with disabilities to achieve economic and community participation through meaningful employment. All employees receive training and support to deliver quality products for our business customers. As part of our commitment to providing quality services, we employ skilled Training Officers and Welfare Officers to provide and/or organise additional training and support for our employees with a disability. Business Services • Our Newcastle Division employs up to 130 people with disabilities, with opportunities in pallet manufacturing, timberwork, light engineering, general packaging and assembly work, and sewing. The Division is certified to ISO 9001 and AWPCS for exported products. • Our Sydney Operations Division comprises three sites in Western Sydney, employing up to 100 people with disabilities. All three sites are licensed by the Commonwealth Government’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). • Our Lithgow Division employs up to 30 people with disabilities in a commercial laundry which services hotels, motels, and a range of hospitality-related customers in the Blue Mountains and Lithgow region. In 2017, we became a Registered Training Organisation operating as Access Knowledge. We provide training in Certificate III in Process Manufacturing and offer 'part qualifications' or 'skill sets' relating to this qualification. We provide training to learners with a disability and without a disability and employ qualified trainers that have experience in training people with disabilities and various barriers to education and training.
