MEarth (pronounced me-earth) is an environmental education nonprofit with roots in Carmel, California with the mission to educate and inspire through environmental stewardship. MEarth staff (comprised of eight total full-time and part-time staff members) teaches and mentors approximately 2,000 youth within the Monterey Peninsula annually from Carmel Unified School District, Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County and other clients. The majority of MEarth’s services take place at the Hilton Bialek Habitat, a ten-acre nature center adjacent to Carmel Middle School. MEarth’s programs are diverse and utilize the wealth of teaching opportunities the Hilton Bialek Habitat provides including, but not limited to, Science, Botany, World Language, English/Language Arts, sustainability, Ecoliteracy, culinary arts (and healthy lifestyle choices) and History/Social Science. MEarth is the steward of the Hilton Bialek Habitat property in partnership with Carmel Unified School District.
