Catalyst Foundation has over 20 years of success and struggle in the poorest villages of Southern Vietnam. Founded in 1999, Catalyst Foundation is an American Non-Governmental Organization. Starting in the Mekong Delta, we have had successful projects in Vĩnh Long (1999-2002), Bình Thuận (1999-2002), Hồ Chí Minh City (2003-2004, 2007-2009), Đồng Tháp (2005-2010), and Kiên Giang (2007 - 2013). We have taken that experience and are applying our Holistic programs in Ninh Thuận province (2013 - present).
Our mission is to build communities to fight human trafficking. We work together with our key stakeholders (children, parents, hamlet leaders, caretakers, social workers, and teachers) to prioritize what programs are needed: education, housing, food, job training, debt management and/or emotional support, etc.
As we set long-term objectives for the community, they begin to realize that the poverty, discrimination and dehumanization that they’ve experienced throughout their entire lives, will eventually change to hope and a brighter future for their children.
The main objective of Catalyst Foundation’s Holistic Community Development program is to assist our community in becoming self-sufficient. We firmly believe that the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty is to strategically empower whole communities by educating, providing training and employment, building safe dwellings, and empowering children to stand up with dignity.
