Shaping the digital policy agenda in an era of near continuous disruption
Digital transformation, once the preserve of the futurist, is now part of everyday life, affecting every arm of commerce and society.
The IIC exists to advance the debate and understanding of regulatory policy in the increasingly converged communications industry. This role has always been important, but perhaps never more so than at a time of such profound global change.
IIC holds meetings throughout the year for an international audience of national regulators and industry operators. Discussions coalesce around five major themes.
• Privacy, Safety, Security
• Infrastructure and Spectrum: 5G and next generation networks
• Competition Policy
• Content: innovation, regulation and markets
• Investment
Regional events and chapter events look in-depth at these topics and explore them within a regulatory, geo-political and economic context. All of these events are free to members. Non-members pay a small fee. Most IIC meetings take place under the Chatham House Rule leading to much freer debate and contribution from panellists and audiences.
The IIC is a not-for-profit, independent global membership organisation and offers the opportunity to network with senior practitioners and debate key current issues through involvement in events, the Institute's journal and other professional activities.
