Companhia Brasileira de Lítio is a Brazilian company, pioneer in the underground mining of litiniferous pegmatite and in the concentration of spodumene, a greenish mineral containing lithium. Spodumene is found within the pegmatites, along with Mica, Feldspar and Quartz. CBL is one of the few companies worldwide with the integrated lithium ore-concentrate-compound technology. Our underground resource Mina da Cachoeira is operated with the sublevel stopping method, under very stringent safety procedures. Spodumene is concentrated through Dense Media Separation, developed according to our resource specific needs. After concentrated, spodumene is shipped to our chemical plant where we produce lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide using the acid route. Our products are used by a vast range of applications, such as lubricant grease, ion-lithium batteries, fluxing powders, salts for thermal treatment, pharmaceutical, ceramic and glasses, among others.
