Founded by veteran producer Riccardo Tozzi in 1997, and expanded upon the arrival in 1999, of new partners, film and television executives Giovanni Stabilini and Marco Chimenz, Cattleya quickly established itself as Italy’s leading independent production company. The company has produced over fifty feature films, television series and miniseries and has been nominated for and won numerous awards including more than forty David di Donatellos (Italy’s equivalent of the Oscar) and a number of Baftas, Césars, Goyas and European Film Awards. The company has also been home to two official Italian entries for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and received an Academy Award nomination.
