Excel WAS a Long Distance telephone service provider. It support residential, commercial carrier, and business customers with a mix of service including PRI, SS7, and VOIP. Both National and International terminations were available. The Excel network was based on a Next Generation platform with connections across the US. ***** Excel has since been purchased by Impact Telecom which was subsequently acquired by Lingo Telecom which has since been merged with Bulls Eye Telecom and is majority owned by B. Riley Financial. The Lingo name is staying. The Excel name has been sold, so after several iterations of it as the wonderful telecom company so many of us knew and loved, it appears it is now forever passed into history!
