Food Bank For New York City has been working to end food poverty in our five boroughs for over 36 years. Nearly 1.4 million New Yorkers rely on Food Bank for food and other resources. As the city’s largest hunger-relief organization, we employ a multifaceted approach centered on helping low-income New Yorkers overcome their circumstances and achieve greater independence. Through its distribution programs and network of more than 1,000 member agencies and schools citywide, Food Bank provides approximately 80 million free meals per year for New Yorkers in need. Working toward long-term solutions to hunger, Food Bank develops policy and conducts research to inform community and government efforts.
