Comptoir Group Plc was founded by Tony Kitous following his move from Algeria to London when he was just aged 18. Tony’s love for traditional homeland food shaped his vision to share Lebanese food. The group has expanded over the years but the values have remained the same.
The heart and soul of the Company is the team members, most of whom progress their way through the ranks to GM or Head Chefs. Creating a family environment and providing generous hospitality to every guest is a key ingredient of the business.
The Restaurants:
Comptoir Libanais translated means ‘Lebanese Counter’ and that summarises the brand. Everyone is welcome to eat the authentic Lebanese food within a friendly and calm environment. The interior is created using items frm the Middle East such as the tiles you would see in courtyards through to Grandmother oil cloths, which are used on the chairs. A section of each restaurant is dedicated to a Souk Market where guests can purchase speciality ingredients, homeware and handmade Moroccan bags.
Levant, located in Jason Court, Wigmore Street in the West End and Kenza restaurant can be found in the City within Devonshire Square. These restaurants prepare and serve food using only traditional mother and grandmother recipes from the Middle East. Decoration is authentic and traditional beautiful lights and furnishings transport you to Marrakesh. Both restaurants have entertainment including belly dancing and live music.
Tony wanted to share the taste of Shawarma with the United Kingdom and Shawa was born. The creation of wraps is quite a spectacle, as guests watch the team expertly carve the meat, it also offers rotisserie chicken. Shawa is a fast take-away offering healthy food suitable for everyone.
Yalla Yalla joined the family in December 2016. Located in Oxford Circus, Soho and Greenwich the three restaurants are welcoming and unique in style offering a rustic feel with authentic Lebanese food.
