University Emergency Medicine Foundation (UEMF) is a non-profit academic medical practice that runs the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University as well as the Emergency Departments at Rhode Island Hospital, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, The Miriam and Newport Hospital treating over 250,000 patients annually.
As a non-profit foundation, UEMF is committed to completing its mission and vision including academic and research support. UEMF physicians and research personnel conduct a wide variety of research in basic science, clinical practices, and public health. UEMF member physicians train 48 emergency medicine resident physicians in the prestigious Brown University/ Rhode Island Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program. UEMF also sponsors a number of fellowship programs in conjunction with Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University.
