UCCF supports over 100 Christian Unions (CUs) in universities across Great Britain. These student-led organisations provide an accessible and open platform for university students to explore the Christian faith at a crucial point in their lives.
Many CUs have won SU and NUS awards for their excellent events and contribution to university life. We invest in these student groups through year-round support from our local Staff and Relay Workers, as well as through key events such as our annual student conference, attended by over 1,000 student leaders, and regular regional training events.
Our Staff Workers work alongside local CUs, training, mentoring and resourcing students. They work through our Staff Training Curriculum, being trained in Theology, Biblical Studies, Mission, Apologetics, Church History and Ministry Skills, as well as attending a number of training conferences each the year. Every Staff Worker is part of a regional team, supported and cared for by a Team Leader.
Relay is our ten-month volunteer programme, giving graduates the opportunity to work alongside a CU. During their time with us they work through the Study Programme and have an opportunity to study an area of personal interest. Relay Workers attend training conferences and are part of a regional team, supported and cared for by a Staff Worker who encourages and enables them to work strategically through the opportunities that the Programme brings.
Our office staff – divided into Finance, Development & Communications, Logistics, and Human Resources functions – work to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and stewardship, seeking to support and facilitate the work of Staff, Relays Workers and students, and produce innovative resources to serve UCCF’s mission. Each team member is supported by a head of department, and staff development is encouraged through training conferences.
