The Mission of the Camden County Police Department is to Reduce the Number of Crime Victims and Make People Feel Safe. Our creed is "Service Before Self". CCPD leverages the advancements of technology in a fashion which enhances public safety and officer saftey while building trust with the community. Our unique systems increase officer accountability which maximizes organizational efficiencies and effectiveness.
A team of more than 600 sworn and civilian with a $70 million dollar budget have enhanced safety in one of the nation's most challenged cities to record lows in crime while attracting more than $3.5 billion dollars in investments. Homicides have been reduced by more than 72% and violent crime 39% with a continued downward trajectory.
In May 2015, the 44th President of the United States of American Barack Obama visited Camden, NJ to announce his President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing report. The National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington DC features CCPD in its American Policing section as the present day and future of law enforcement.
