Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview is a Catholic school in Sydney, New South Wales with a mission to educate and develop ‘men for others’ in the Jesuit tradition. The College has delivered quality education since 1880, providing care and support for each student as a unique and gifted young person – in Jesuit parlance, this is known as ‘cura personalis’ (‘care for the individual’). The ideal for Ignatian graduates is that they become men of ‘competence, conscience, compassion and commitment’ who aim to serve others to benefit the common good.
Saint Ignatius’ College takes its place in an almost five-century educational tradition of forming students in a spirit of Christian humanism, which characterises the College as Jesuit. Through knowledge, understanding and experience of the Catholic faith - both as individuals and as members of the Church community - the College aims to merge true Christian values with a relationship with God and others in a spirit of service. The College encourages an attitude of openness to life’s questions, promotes personal growth and aims to provide the educational means for boys to make a meaningful contribution to their community and their world.
