Founded in 2001 as a summer camp to offer local musicians the opportunity to study and perform chamber music, Heartland Chamber Music has grown into one of the most nationally recognized pre-college chamber music programs in the midwest. The organization has served more than 4000 students and presented more than 149 concerts throughout the past 16 years through year-­round and summer chamber music programming. HCM will build on this programming success in the fall of 2017 with the introduction of String Sprouts, providing free string instruments and free weekly lessons to at-risk children as young as 3 until they transition into their grade school band and/or string programs.
