In 2011 three brothers decided to take a leap and launch a small brewery. The idea was simple: Brew distinctive craft lagers using time honored German tradition energized by American innovation. Do this with a heart for your community, hard work, and the care for the Jack's Abby Family that would sprout up around them.
At the time, lager was synonymous with macro-brewed, bubble, booze water and the brothers would embark on a journey to change that perception forever. We've brewed nearly countless varieties of lagers and pushed the limits of what a lager can be time and time again. It is not uncommon now for breweries to steer you with pride towards a pilsner instead of an IPA and we like to think we played some small role in that evolution.
We can't say that our curiosity for other styles never piqued. It certainly did, but we had a mission for Jack's Abby Craft Lagers and we wanted to remain true to that. This left only one solution - build another brewery.
In 2016 we expanded our portfolio and launched Springdale Beer Company and the Barrel Room all on the same block in Framingham. Springdale allowed us to create a space in parallel to Jack's Abby to experiment with all of the flavors of fermentation. We jokingly refer to Springdale as the rebellious teen of the company and Jack's Abby is where Springdale goes to grow up - but some people never do.
So much has changed since we first opened our doors, but a lot has not. We are still a family business working hard every day with a heart for our community and the support of our growing Jack's Abby family.
Come by and visit some time. Try our beers at stores and restaurants throughout the Northeast or just drop in on our social channels to say hello. We're proud of what we're building here and we hope to share that with you.
Prost!
