In 1985, Alkon Corporation sold their existing cylinder product lines to Pillar Corporation of Wisconsin, establishing Pillar Motion Controls, locating the business in Hartford, Wisconsin.
In 1990, Pillar Corporation sold the product line to a group of investors with substantial Fluid Power background, renaming the company to Motion Controls, Inc. Under their direction, the business continued to grow, investing in more in house manufacturing capabilities, further improving customer service and lead times while allowing greater flexibility to concentrate on more application specific projects and products.
In the Spring of 1999, upon the untimely death of the principal owner, the company was sold to a private concern, and on January 1, 2000, Motion Controls, LLC was born and continues to this day.
In 2005, Motion Controls, LLC moved to its current location in Hartford, WI. A new 25,000 square foot facility, with room for further expansion as needed.
Renewed vision for the company has resulted in exciting Mechatronics technology, QVLA®, giving Motion Controls the capability to integrate position feedback capabilities into the current cylinder offerings, and the ability to utilize the technology in far broader applications as well.
