PT Bhumi Jati Power is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) Company to develop Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 coal fired steam power plant in the Java Island as an expansion of the existing power plants in Tanjung Jati B complex Unit 1 to 4. PT Bhumi Jati Power entered into a long term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 with PT. PLN (Persero) on 21st December 2015.
Pursuant to the PPA, BJP will build, own and operate the 2 x 1,000 MegaWatt Coal Fired Power Plant located in Tanjung Jati B complex, Jepara Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia and will sell all of the electricity to PT. PLN (Persero) for a period 25 years after starting of the commercial operation.
The establishment of PT Bhumi Jati Power is in line with Nawa Cita program –a set of priority agendas and development strategy proposed by the Indonesian Government- launched by The President of Republic Indonesia, particularly the ”Cita” (dream, vision, goal) to achieve the sovereignty and independence in the energy sector through establishment of power plants spread all over Indonesia with the total capacity of 35,000 MegaWatt.
Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 adopts the Ultra Super-Critical(USC) Technology with the main Steam Pressure at 26 Mpa and the temperature of 605 degrees. As a result of USC technology, the combustion will be more efficient as the material is converted into higher heat and pressure. At this condition, CO2 and other gas emission will decrease due to the lower consumption of coal.
