The Mall:
The Promenade is a part of the Al-Othman Portfolio. It is much more than a shopping mall. It is a lifestyle destination that is focused on the well-being of families. Its geographical location is ideal as it is near residential areas that are popular with young families, and easily accessible. The mall is full of activities to keep children active and develop new skills, while still having all the leisure retail stores and F&B expected in a mall. The mall provides daycares and support for new mothers. The Promenade also houses Soapbox, the first incubator for local start-ups in Kuwait.
The PCC:
On the top floor of The Promenade you will find the Promenade Cultural Center, which is a platform for the arts and cultural activities. It serves as a unique and interactive link between local artists and the public. It also supports programs focused on educational and cultural growth.
A brief history:
Abdullah Abdul Latif Al-Othman (1895 – 1965) was a Kuwaiti businessman who was known for his generosity and dedication to helping the less fortunate, both locally and regionally. He started a school with his brothers, called Al-Othman School in the 1930s, and built his first Mosque in 1958. He is most known for starting the largest and most recognized charity in the Islamic world called Zakat Al-Othman. He has been recognized and honored by having a street named after him in Hawalli. The vision of the late Mr. Al Othman continues to be fulfilled by initiatives that are now carried out by his family.
