Retail Estates is a Belgian real estate company that invests mainly in retail properties located on the periphery of residential areas or along access roads to urban centres in Belgium and the Netherlands. The company has a portfolio with a value of nearly 2 billion euro.
The most important long-term objective for Retail Estates is to assemble, manage and expand a portfolio of out-of-town retail real estate which ensures steady, long-term growth due to its location and the quality and diversification of its tenants. The projected growth results both from the value of the portfolio and the income generated from leasing.
In the short term, this goal is pursued by continuously monitoring the occupancy rate of the portfolio, the rent collection as well as the maintenance and management costs.
Most of the Group’s tenants are well-known retail chains. As of 30 September 2023, Retail Estates has 1,008 premises in its portfolio with a total retail area of 1,208,564 m². The occupancy rate of these buildings measured in rented square metres is 98.12%.
The board of directors is composed of representatives of a group of institutional investors, independent directors and the management, each of them has built up specific knowledge in the retail sector and/or real estate business. Consequently, all decisions about investments are made expertly and with a view to shareholders’ value.
Retail Estates is a regulated real estate company (BE-REIT) and is listed on Euronext Brussels and Amsterdam.
