The Belgian Federal public service of Justice operates on the crossroads of the three main branches of power: the judicial, the legislative and the executive. The administration enables the courts and tribunals to function and helps create and enforce the law. Important partners include (among others) the intelligence services, the commissions for aid and mediation, the National Institute for Criminology and Criminalistics and the Belgian “Moniteur” (legal journal).
