The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) is a lean and responsive state agency working to improve Georgia’s world-class transportation network. GRTA works on behalf of the Governor to reduce congestion and improve mobility, and operates high-quality, efficient regional commuter services.
GRTA’s jurisdiction encompasses a 13-county metro Atlanta region, which accounts for approximately 40% of Georgia’s population and $193 billion in economic activity every year. GRTA works to maximize the state’s transportation investments in this critical region by focusing on transportation performance management, administering the region’s vanpool service, and operating the Xpress regional commuter coach service.
