Pécsi Brewery has never stopped operating ever since its foundation in 1848. Two brothers, pioneers of organic farming took ownership of the 170 years old brewery in 2017 and they shortly transformed it into an independent brewery putting quality, purity and environment protection in focus.
The German Beer Purity Law was introduced again and while continuing the long brewing traditions and best brands, a new premium and organic beer line was launched in 2019, including a gluten-free lager, much to the happiness of the consumers. An organic Pale Ale and a Wheat Beer followed soon.
The barley and wheat are supplied to the malting plant by the owners' own organic farms. Water is gained directly from the Brewery’s wells, providing water coming from the Mecsek mountains.
