When his wife passed away from cancer, Dr. Rodvien and his son, Brian, founded Smarter Medical Care, a company dedicated to helping people better understand their illnesses. “ My mother’s illness went through several phases: first she was told of the cancer, then she experienced symptoms caused by her surgery and chemotherapy, and only at the end was she ill from the cancer,” company CEO Brian Rodvien observes. “During all these phases, however, my father was able to tell her what was going on, in terms she understood.
