RTV21 is Kosovo’s leading independent broadcaster, now also broadcasting in
Macedonia, with 24-hour radio and TV channels, broadcast on terrestrial,
satellite and IPTV, and a strong digital presence. The outlet forged its
reputation during Kosovo’s armed conflict with Serbia in the late 1990s,
when founders were forcibly deported by paramilitaries. Its focus is mainly
on original programming for Kosovan society, including a large diaspora
audience. As a pioneer on the market, RTV21 was the first station in Kosovo
to broadcast on digital terrestrial and the first station in Kosovo and the
Balkans to broadcast in HD format.
