Ghana Medical Relief (GMR) is a non-profit humanitarian organization registered in the United States of America and Ghana. The organization is aimed at improving healthcare in deprived villages in Ghana. GMR is made up of healthcare and non-healthcare volunteers with a common goal of delivering better healthcare to the people of Ghana in the form of general medicine, pediatric, dental, urology, obstetrics, gynecology, ophthalmology and health education.
In addition, Ghana Medical Relief has donated medical supplies in the form of hospital beds, ultrasound machines, examination tables, cardiac defibrillators, operating room equipment as well as medications to some hospitals and clinics in Ghana.
In July 2019 and July 2018, GMR undertook health missions in Anomabo in the Central Region and Asiakwa in the Eastern Region of Ghana, respectively. In Anomabo, more than 5,000 patients were treated from the community and its neighboring villages. Similarily in Asiakwa, over 3500 patients were treated from this village and its surrounding communities.
