Gio’s Garden is a program to help children with special needs, ages birth through 6 years old. It is a center that provides an opportunity for children to work on therapeutic goals, while their families have the opportunity to take a break from the constant demands of taking care of a child with high needs. In 2015, Gio’s Garden provided more than 5,600 hours of care. Currently we provide over 700 hours of care each month to more than 75 children, subsidizing 60% or more of the fee for service.
The center is staffed by a variety of professionals in the disability world; including art therapists, recreational therapists, certified nursing assistants, special education para-educators, and graduate students studying occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing or speech.
