Keepod is a $12 PC with the ability to connect 5 billion people to personal computing and the internet. We are focusing on the empowerment of low income communities all over the world, enabling them to gain access to personal computing and most recent technologies. The unique approach we’re following is to separate software from hardware and move the operating system to a USB-device. Using Keepod, people no longer need to have a personal computer to have access to personal computing. The Keepod contains the user’s entire personal computing environment, including all his data, apps, file, settings, history and more, while it runs of old, refurbished computers that would have otherwise been thrown away. Keepod successfully implemented over 20 projects on three continents and contributed to a sustainable improvement of education for those children and youths who, for the first time, were able to access information technology and the internet.
