Newworld IGA is an established retail chain operating 19 supermarkets and 3 wholesale divisions across the Fiji Islands. The company first started trading in 1933 as a small corner shop in Ba, Fiji, run by two brothers (Chottubhai and Maganbhai Patel). Today, Newworld IGA is a household name that serves the people of Fiji through a dedicated team of more than 1,300 staff members. In 2012, Newworld acquired master-franchise rights from IGA (Independent Grocers Association) USA, allowing it to revolutionise the standard of supermarket retailing in Fiji.
