Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (Private) Limited (PIDC) was incorporated on January 1, 1985 and took over the business of Ex-Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation. The entire capital of the managed companies and subsidiaries pf Corporation were transferred to and vested in the Company with effect from April 1, 1985. The Company was established to setup / manage and / or run a project / undertaking or business.
IDC is wholly owned by the Government of Pakistan through the Ministry of Production and Industries (MoIP) and enjoy the status of Government Autonomous Body Corporate.
PIDC act as an arm of Production and Industries Ministries and work in furtherance of the MoIP mandate assigned by the Government. Following are its major roles & functions:
to foster the sprit of enterprise, facilitate entrepreneurs and promote development of internationally competitive industry;
to promote economic and industrial development of the country by itself or in collaboration with the private sector; and
to facilitate in the establishment of a conducive environment for growth of the industry and to act as the primary vehicle for facilitating industrialization by focusing on creating environments for different segments of the industries and establishment of industrial parks in the country by itself or in collaboration with the private sector.
