Jaan Pakistan is an award-winning social startup, based in Lahore, Pakistan. Jaan Pakistan was founded in June 2014, and it was formally incorporated with SECP in October 2015 as a private limited company (soon after receiving seed funding from Rwanga Foundation). In October 2014, Nobel Laureate, Professor Muhammad Yunus, endorsed Jaan Pakistan’s mission to research and manufacture affordable energy solutions for low-income communities across Pakistan and seasoned, serial entrepreneur, Doug Richard, Founder of the School for Startups, mentored the Jaan Pakistan team in Dublin, Ireland. Jaan Pakistan is launching its flagship solar cooker in March 2016. Jaan Pakistan’s primary research initiative is to completely indigenize well established solar thermal energy technologies within the end of 2016. In addition to this, Jaan Pakistan is also developing and testing new prototypes to solve energy problems across rural Pakistan.
