Mizan Group is one of the most prominent publishing groups in Indonesia. It was established in 1983 by three university students and two of their seniors. Its original goals were to develop a new genre of Islamic literature in Indonesia. Beginning with publishing only translated foreign books of prominent international Muslim writers, books published by Mizan have evolved and gradually taken the shape of serious modern discourses representing differing Islamic views. Its role in the development of moderate and tolerant Islamic discourse in Indonesia is very significant.
However, Mizan Group has been growing ever since with its more than 20 imprints, and currently could be regarded as a trade publishers group which publishes books in many genres. We have published the works of many bestselling Indonesian authors, both fiction and non-fiction books, such as Andrea Hirata, Dee Lestari, Trinity, Komaruddin Hidayat, Rhenald Kasali, Pidi Baiq, Sujiwo Tejo, Salim Said, Dwitasari, Mona Ratuliu, Pandji Pragiwaksono etc.
